In a strategic move that ensures the The Maximum Fighting Championship 22 “Payoff” will be shown live on HDNet Fights, the event has moved it’s date from September 22 to October 2.

The event, which will feature the return of 10-time UFC veteran Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald, will be a homecoming of sorts for the first Albertan in MMA history to make his way into the ranks of the world’s biggest promotion.

Coming off consecutive losses to Wilson Gouveia and Nate Quarry respectively, the man known to many of his hometown fans as “J-Mac” will likely not get any easy opponents upon his return to the promotion where he started his career.

In fact, the competition in the MFC is quite different, with recent additions such as Trevor Prangley, John Alessio, Paul Daley, and Nick Thompson, the level of talent has increased dramatically since his choke over Neil Berry at MFC 10 – which was ironically titled “Unfinished Business.”

MacDonald will return to the MFC ring to take care of  said “Unfinished Business” against an as yet unknown opponent at the River Cree Resort and Casino, to get back onto the winning track and repave his way back into the Octagon.
